On August 4th, AM830 and ESPN Zone Anaheim held the 2nd Annual Angels Charity Cooking Challenge. Mike Butcher (Defending Top Chef), Joel Pineiro, and Rich Thompson each brought in a partner to compete over a hot stove to earn money for their charity. While Peter Bourjos and Mark Trumbo each pulled a fan from the crowd to help them cook. Little did anyone know that the fans pulled were chefs secretly planted in the stands to help out the rookies.

When ESPN Zone's Executive Chef Thomas Keaveny unveiled the secret dish (Sliders), most felt Butcher and cooking partner Tiffany Allison (Sister-in-law) would be the odds on favorite to win, especially considering she is a professional chef trained by some of the best in France.

When all was said and done, Joel & Shirley Pineiro were awarded Top Chef honors and earned $13,550 for their charity. Sadly, Peter Bourjos and his ringer chef received the Kitchen Nightmare Award.

Joel & Shirley Pineiros' Award winning "Sweet & Salty Sinker Slider" will be a special on the menu through mid-September, with a portion of all sales going to the Eddie Guardado Foundation.
